Privacy policy
Storystone, by ITdepends.tech. Last updated: 2 November 2026.
Storystone is a multiplayer 3D adventure that runs in your browser and as an Android app. This page explains what the game stores, why, and how you can remove it. We do not show ads, we do not sell data, and we do not use tracking or advertising tools.
Without an account
- On your device. Your traveller (name, looks, weapons, bag, quests, where you stood) and your settings are kept on your own device only.
- Playing together. While you play, your chosen name, your looks, your position and what you type in chat are sent through our room server to the other players in the same world, so they can see you. This is passed on live and is not stored.
- Anonymous counts. To see where new players get stuck, the game sends a few anonymous steps (for example "opened the game" or "pressed Play"), with only the platform, whether it is a phone or a computer, and whether it is your first visit. These contain no name, no account and no identifier, and are kept as daily totals.
With an account (optional)
An account lets you keep your traveller on more than one device. We then store:
- your account name and display name;
- your password, only as a one-way hash;
- your e-mail address, if you give one, and whether you want news by e-mail (only if you tick that box);
- a saved copy of your traveller, and when it was last saved;
- sign-in tokens, so you stay signed in on your devices.
To stop people from guessing passwords, failed sign-ins are counted for a short time together with your network address.
Reports
If a player reports someone for their language, bullying, cheating or name, we receive the names of both players, the reason, and the last few chat lines, so we can judge what happened. A network address may be stored with the report to prevent abuse of the report button. Reports are only read by the developer and are deleted when they have been handled.
Where the data is kept
- Accounts and reports: Supabase, in the European Union (Frankfurt).
- Room server (playing together and the anonymous counts): Cloudflare.
- The game itself is served by Vercel. The fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google sees your network address when the fonts load.
How long
Account data stays until you delete your account. Short-term security counts are removed after a short while. Reports are deleted once handled. Data on your device stays until you clear it.
Your choices
- Delete your account: in the game (menu, Account, Delete this account) or on the delete account page. This removes everything the server keeps about your account.
- Stop the news e-mails: untick the box in the game under Account.
- Mute or report players: in the game menu under Travellers. You can also turn chat off there.
- You can ask us what we store about you, or to correct or delete it, by e-mail.
Children
Storystone has chat with other players and is meant for players aged 13 and over.
